This is the web site of Wirral Health Informatics Service: an NHS department which provides Information and I.T. services to the health organisations in Wirral, Merseyside.
Wirral Hospital Trust, Wirral Primary Care Trust and Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology jointly retain the services of WHIS to deliver infrastructure, development, support and project management services relating to their national NHS Information and I.T. obligations.
WHIS employs over a hundred specialist staff, based in Arrowe Park, Clatterbridge and other major hospitals in Wirral, as well as offices in other key locations across the peninsula.
Throughout 2008, WHIS is concentrating on deploying major elements of the NHS I.T. Plan: the National Programme for I.T.
